SOLI MUSIC SOCIETY: CELEBRATING THE KICKOFF OF OUR INAUGURAL SEASON

We are thrilled to kick off our very first season at the Soli Music Society with a performance for students at Ft. Wright Elementary School! It was an incredible experience to be able to share a musical performance with the students, and we are grateful to Ft. Wright Elementary for giving us the opportunity to connect with their students. It is through partnerships like these that we can continue to make a lasting impact on the lives of young aspiring musicians and listeners.

As part of our initiative to engage schools and community programs in the surrounding area, we proposed an innovative music program that aimed to introduce young kids to classical music. Ft. Wright Elementary was among the first to respond, and we were excited to launch our season with a performance for students in the third, fourth, and fifth grades. The performance presentation explored the world of dance music and songs spanning from the 1500s right up to the present day.

In addition to exploring a diverse range of songs and dance music, the performance aimed to foster a deeper understanding of musical instruments. We introduced the students to the enchanting world of the violin and other string instruments, emphasizing its significance within an orchestra. Through interactive demonstrations, the students gained insights into the intricacies of playing and experienced firsthand the magic it can create when part of a larger musical ensemble. In addition, the session included a discussion on careers in music. With the desire to inspire and encourage interest in classical music, we shared some insights on easy first steps to take when thinking about starting on an instrument.

Thank you to the exceptional staff and students of Ft. Wright Elementary School for their warm welcome and enthusiasm throughout the day. Their extraordinary receptiveness and active participation made the event an overwhelming success, and we are immensely grateful for their incredible support of music education. We are looking forward to visiting more schools and in our mission to bring the world of classical music to more young listeners!
